Understanding Custom Die-Cut Tooling
Unlike standard label shapes, a custom outline may require its own cutting die. This is a tool made specifically for the shape and size of your label.
One-Time Tooling
If a new die is needed, there may be a separate tooling charge. We'll include that in your quote so you know the cost before placing your order.
Reordering Your Labels
Once your die has been made, we can typically reuse it for future orders with the same shape and size. This means you generally won't need to pay for a new die each time you reorder.
Changes to Your Design
If you change the size or outline of your label, a new die may be needed. Changes to the printed artwork alone don't necessarily require a new die if the cutting shape stays the same.
