What are Crystal Clear labels?

Crystal Clear labels are printed on transparent synthetic film rather than white paper or an opaque material. Areas without ink remain clear, allowing the surface underneath to show through. This creates the popular “no label” look, where the design appears to be printed directly onto the bottle, jar, or container.

Because the material is transparent, the color of the container can affect how your artwork looks. White ink can be used behind printed areas to help colors appear more opaque, while unprinted areas remain clear. This is an important consideration when preparing artwork for Crystal Clear labels.

Why choose Crystal Clear?

Waterproof & moisture resistant

Holds up to condensation, refrigeration, and normal wet handling without lifting or clouding. For anything unusual, like freezer storage or prolonged submersion, we recommend confirming with us before running a full order.

Product visibility

The container's own color and contents stay visible around your design, instead of being covered by a solid label background.

Durable synthetic stock

Built to resist tearing, smudging, and everyday wear better than a standard paper label.

Premium, minimal appearance

A clean, high end look that works well when you want the design to feel like it's printed directly on the product, not on a separate label.

Where they work well

Crystal Clear shows up most on packaging where the product itself is part of the design, and on anything that needs to survive moisture or cold.

Available finishes

Lamination

Soft Touch, Gloss, or Matte. A layer over the print that changes how it feels and reflects light, from a soft matte hand to a high shine finish.

See pricing with lamination →

2D Foil

A flat, reflective metallic accent applied to specific areas of your design, for a shine that catches the light without changing the surface texture.

See pricing with 2D Foil →

3D Foil

The same metallic finish as 2D Foil, raised so the foiled area has texture you can feel, not just see.

Spot UV

A glossy, raised clear coating over specific parts of the design, adding contrast and shine without adding any color.

Crystal Clear vs. White PP

Both are durable, waterproof synthetic label materials. The main difference is how your design looks on the container. Crystal Clear lets the product show through, while White PP provides a solid white background.

Artwork considerations

Unprinted areas are transparent unless you add white ink

By default, any part of your design without ink stays see through, so the container or product underneath shows through instead of a white background. If you'd rather a section read as solid white regardless of what's behind it, we can print white ink beneath it. Flag the areas that need it when you send your file, and we'll confirm the details for your specific finish and quantity as part of proofing.

High contrast designs read best

Because the background isn't a fixed color, artwork with clear, high contrast graphics tends to look cleaner than fine, low contrast detail.

Foil and Spot UV need vector-clean art

The same file-prep standards that apply to our opaque stocks apply here too, especially for clean edges on foil and Spot UV areas.

You'll always see a proof first

Every order gets a free digital proof before production, so you can confirm exactly how transparent and printed areas will look before anything goes to press.
