What is Estate #4 Paper?
Estate #4 is a premium uncoated label paper from Neenah’s Estate Label collection: white, with a classic laid finish that gives the surface a visible, tactile texture. It’s built as a wet-strength paper for label applications exposed to moisture — wet strength helps the label resist tearing or shriveling in damp conditions, but it is not the same thing as waterproof.
It works well as an alternative to smooth coated paper when you want the label itself to read as a traditional, premium paper stock.

Quick specs
Specifications as published by the manufacturer. Wet strength describes resistance to moisture-related tearing or shriveling — it does not mean the finished label is waterproof.
Why choose Estate #4?
Traditional, tactile character
The laid texture gives the label a classic, premium paper feel you can see and feel, rather than a flat printed surface.
Clean white base
Unlike Estate #9's cream stock, Estate #4 keeps a white base, so printed colors start from a more neutral surface.
Something beyond smooth paper
When Semi-Gloss Paper's smooth coated surface feels too plain for the product, Estate #4's laid texture gives the label more presence.

Artwork considerations
The laid texture is part of the look
The surface texture remains visible in the finished label, so it becomes part of how the printed artwork reads.
White base, neutral starting point
Because Estate #4 is white rather than cream, printed colors behave closer to a standard white paper than Estate #9's cream stock.
Keep important content inside the cut line
Keep text, logos and other important elements safely inside the finished edge of the label.
You'll see a proof first
Every order receives a digital proof before production so you can review the artwork before it moves forward.
